My writings…

For the life of me it always seems like I’m playing catch-up. Always having to reintroduce myself and go through the song and dance of explaining another 2-3 month absence from writing. Explaining that things have come up and that I’m still “trying to find the time”. Bullshit…honestly bullshit.

If you wanted to write you would, if you wanted to paint you would. If you wanted to do all the little things you say you wanted, you would.

I don’t know your situation and I’m sure everyone has their reasons for not being accountable for their art. But speaking for myself, it’s honestly bullshit. I know there are pockets of time I can write. Little sections of my schedule that are usually filled with doom scrolling or letting my mind numb out, that I can apply to being creative. The struggle is not realizing the gaps and dead time to create, but the discipline to actually create instead of succumbing to the suck.

It’s way easier to just smoke and veg out after the workday or once the kids are asleep than to hit the punching bag or jump rope. That it’s easier to wage interstellar warfare and spread galactic democracy than to practice vocals or write a blog.

All I’m saying is stop saying you don’t have the time. The time is all around us. It’s how you apply that time that matters the most. Do you spend that time licking your wounds from the days battles, or do you spend the time sharpening your sword and preparing for the next battle. Apply your time wisely my friends.
